There are around 60 bird sanctuaries all over India, most of which are from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Some other sanctuaries are also situated in Odisha, Maharashtra and Goa also.
Basically these bird sanctuaries provide a natural and friendly environment for birds, for their growth and survival. Many of the migrated birds are taken care in these sanctuaries.

This sanctuary holds an area of 4812 km in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh and also has some protected area in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. It is the second largest brackish water eco system in india.

One of the biggest threats to this place is, it may disappear within 100 years because of formation of slit. Govt is taking step to prevent this from destruction.

Kutch bustard sanctuary also known as lala-parjan sanctuary is situated in kutch district Gujarat, India.
This sanctuary is one of the two Indian bustard sanctuaries in Gujarat. Established for the conservation of Indian Bustard, the heaviest flying bird belonging to the avian family of otdidae.
It has a protected area of 2 square km only and is the smallest in the country.
The sanctuary comprises arid and semi-arid (dry) grasslands with scrubs containing scattered bushes and some cultivation. The bustard, which is mainly a terrestrial bird, has adapted to this habitat.

Salim Ali bird sanctuary is situated in Goa along the Mandovi river.
This sanctuary has an area of 178 hectares or one can say this habitat is spread over 440 Acres and is covered by low mangrove forest.
The species in this sanctuary include striated heron and western reef heron. Other species that had been recorded include the little bittern and black bittern, red knot, jack snipe and pied avocet.
The largest brackish water lagoon of Asia is located in Odisha, namely the Chilika Lake. Every year thousands of birds migrate here during winters and are taken proper care.
Built originally on the seashore a few hundred years ago, is now about 3 km (2 mi), away from the coast. This sanctuary is more famous for the dolphin views and many more aquatic animals yet it is a popular trend in Odisha that every winter when thousands of birds migrate, the government conducts bird count programme.
CKBS is situated in west Bengal, at south Kolkata near Narendrapur. It is really famous for availability of variety of birds and butterflies.
It is immensely populated with various birds and animal and people are allowed to visit from morning 7:00 to evening 5:00.
